This way, you are saving some of your precious time as you won’t have to enter your Google Ads interface every single day.

Why do I have to link my Google Ads account?

In order for the Slack integration to run correctly, it needs data from your Google Ads account. For security purposes, Google does not allow anyone to see your metrics by default, so we need your permission. We require the lowest level of access to your Google Ads account which is called "Manage your Adwords campaigns." This is the only type of permission we need to only allow us to check on your metrics and generate charts and summaries.

Is it safe to link my Google Ads account?

It’s 100% safe! Clever Ads is a Premier Google Partner. In order to achieve this title, we must meet Google's highest standards and criteria. The different products we've developed over the years have established a strong reputation among 150,000 businesses.

How is my data kept safe?

Once you sign in to your Google account, we save an access token in our encrypted database. The key is only used by our CleverPPC API and is never shared with Slack or Microsoft Teams. When we get the relevant data from Google Ads, we convert it into a formatted Slack or Microsoft Teams message, and we send it to the same conversation that you wrote a command in.

Every message whether it be internal or with Google, Slack, or Microsoft Teams is encrypted using TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security). We only access sites with the HTTPS protocol. From our end, we can only access your Google Ads metrics since you have given us permission to do so. Under no circumstance are we allowed to get a hold of data outside of said parameters.

You can use the Alerts features in order to stay safe and be sure that you won’t miss a thing. You can configure as many alerts as you wish, by selecting your preferred advertising account and then your preferred metric that you want to keep track of. IN-APP Best practices


Slack chat is offering shortcuts for users to quickly and easily access their app’s functions. You can find these shortcuts under the ⚡ symbol. By clicking on it, scroll until you find the shortcuts that the Clever Ads bot offers. You can speedily ask for metrics, graphs, a monthly comparison, or tips on how to optimize your Google Ads and Facebook Ads strategies.


You can also simply text the Slack bot in order to ask for actions you want it to perform. Here are all the words you can type and the bot will reply with data:

  • Menu: the bot will open the menu bar for you so that you can use the action you want it to perform.
  • Metrics: the Clever Ads bot will show you a summary of your selected metrics
  • Clicks: this text will display a graph of the evolution of clicks over the past 7 days. Get similar results for "Impressions", "Conversions", "Cost", "CTR", "CPC". "Tip": Shows you a tip for Google Ads and/or Facebook Ads accounts.
  • Reports: displays the list of your scheduled reports.
  • Compare: ask your bot to compare the most important metrics in numeric form or displayed in a graph for you.


Make sure to invite the Clever Ads Slack bot to your preferred channels by typing /invite @CleverAds. By doing so, you will be able to ask the bot to send you metrics, reports, and graphs in that specific channel. You will also be able to schedule your reports that you’ll receive in those channels where the bot has been invited. Remember that if the bot is not invited to a channel, then you won’t be able to see the channel as an option to be selected when you configure your reports and alerts in the dashboard.

This is a great feature to be able to discuss your PPC campaigns with the rest of your team. If you’re working on campaigns for your customers, you will be able to invite them to a Slack channel and share the evolution and results of the campaigns you’re managing for them.
